Main Bariatric Surgery Procedures
Gastric Bypass
A small stomach pouch is made by dividing a small portion of the top of the stomach then, connecting it to the small intestine thereby decreasing consumption capacity. It is one of the most effective weight loss procedures.
Gastric Sleeve
Sleeve Gastrectomy, also called “the sleeve” is an irreversible, weight loss surgery wherein 4/5 of the stomach is removed. The rest of the stomach stays as a banana-shaped pouch.
Adjustable Gastric Band
Lap Band is one of the least invasive bariatric surgeries. Small incisions measuring about a centimeter are made and a band of silicone is inserted around the stomach to constrict the passage and decrease food intake.
